In Russia we are known for our involvement in major transborder IPO and restructuring projects, notably, IPO of UC Rusal at Hong Kong Stock Exchange and its USD 16.8bn debt restructuring. Furthermore, for the last two years we have represented clients in such large-scale projects as:
- GAZ Group debt restructuring and obtaining syndicated loan under government guarantees for more than USD 1bn;
- sale of a controlling stake in one of the leading Russian banks concurrently raising USD 1bn funding from the Deposit Insurance Agency;
- restructuring a USD 4.5bn debt of a Russian company under Vnesheconombank guarantees; and
- representing Russian Federation in the privatisation of 10% of VTB shares.
We are also actively involved in the drafting banking and finance laws; the Firm’s lawyers were engaged to draft the Russian Government’s anti-crisis program (2008-2009).
