Pavel Sadovsky is one of the leading intellectual property experts at Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners. He has over nine years of practice in IP and litigation in Russia.

Pavel's areas of expertise include intellectual property rights enforcement, transactional IP and data protection, and laws and regulations specific to the TMT (technology, media and telecommunications) sector. Being a registered patent attorney, he is admitted to represent clients before the Russian PTO.

From the standpoint of IP rights enforcement, Pavel has represented and advised both multinational and Russian organisations including Conde Nast Russia, UEFA, Astra Zeneca, Nokian Tyres, Bayer, BayerCropScience, Sukharny Trest, among others.

On the transactional and IP contracts side, Pavel has advised Microsoft, Facebook, Sony Music Entertainment, AMD, Eli Lilly, Sanyo Foods, Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions, TIA Technology, Bristol Meyer Squibb, American Railcars Industries, Kimberly-Clark, IFS, Gloria Jean's, and many other companies.

An experienced litigator, Pavel has been involved in a number of complicated commercial disputes, including representation of five Russian telecom companies in a complicated debt recovery dispute with the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, and acting for large Russian oil and gas companies in a number of disputes.

Pavel is a recognized IT and data protection expert. Being a co-organizer and speaker of the Russian IT Lawyers Discussion Club, he has advised major software and hardware vendors, distributors and system integrators, as well as e-commerce companies. His experience in advising on personal data protection compliance includes acting for pharmaceutical, FMCG, e-commerce, oil and gas, and professional services companies.

Pavel's career includes chairing IP/TMT practice group at Magisters law firm and working at Rospatent, Russia's federal service for IP, patents and trademarks. In 2011, he had a four months' secondment to the New York office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, a leading US-based litigation firm.

He is recommended as a leading IP expert in Russia by such legal directories as Chambers Global, who declared him "a dynamic IP practitioner", Chambers Europe, Legal 500 who described Pavel as "a very smart and charismatic lawyer", Best Lawyers, Legal Experts EMEA, and Managing IP's World IP Survey.

A member of the IP subcommittee of the Association of European Businesses in Russia (AEB), he is a frequent guest speaker at various events, conferences and in the media.

Pavel holds a Law degree from the State University - Higher School of Economics and a PhD in Law from the Russian State Institute of Intellectual Property. He also accomplished SABIT's "Intellectual Property Rights for Eurasia" program in the USA and the "Intellectual Human Resources for IP Protection" program at the State University - Higher School of Economics.
