Securities regulation: EPA&P has represented clients in fund management, broker-dealing, securities placement and investment advisory. EPA&P drafted some of the Russian securities regulations in the 1990s.

Bankruptcy: EPA&P has represented debtors and creditors in major corporate bankruptcies, including some hotly contested cases.

International trade regulation: EPA&P has represented Russian producers in WTO and market access matters in the United States.

Real estate and construction: EPA&P experience includes advising clients with respect to a major subway reconstruction, a first Western-owned office space in St. Petersburg, the largest office tower in Eastern Europe, and a Western hotel development, as well as handling a dispute between a European bank and a Russian government borrower.

Intellectual property: EPA&P experience includes designing general IP strategy for production clients, fighting counterfeit products, IP ownership disputes and litigation involving asset stripping through licensing contracts.

Maritime and shipping: EPA&P has represented maritime creditors and debtors in vessels seizures and other disputes in over 20 countries, as well as in St. Petersburg and the Russian Far East.

Certification and standardization: EPA&P has organized compliance with local safety, standardization and hygienic requirements for several consumer products companies and supervised certification procedures.

Insurance: EPA&P has represented local insurance companies in corporate reorganizations and satellite launch reinsurance, and also advised the largest international insurance broker on product structuring.

Employment law: EPA&P advises both Russian and foreign companies on all questions of Russian labor law which arise in the course of their business activity. EPA&P provides assistance in drafting labor contracts with employees, advises on Russian labor protection and work safety regulations, deals with work-related accidents and compensation schemes for injured employees, and helps resolve disputes arising at all stages of employment relationships. We also advise on labor issues arising in the course of mergers and acquisitions and the liquidation and re-organization of companies. EPA&P assists companies with a foreign skilled or unskilled labor force to comply with Russian immigration and tax legislation.
